Selling at auction

Selling with Stratford Auctions is designed to be clear and hassle-free. You’ll find everything you need to know below, or you can get in touch with the saleroom directly at info@stratfordauctions.com for further assistance.

Why Choose Stratford Auctions? We are committed to complete transparency, with no hidden or unexpected fees. This approach helps ensure we remain one of the most competitively priced auction houses for fine art, antiques and collectibles. We maximise exposure through leading online auction platforms, supported by carefully targeted multi-channel marketing campaigns. This approach ensures each sale reaches the widest and most relevant audience, helping to achieve the strongest possible results.

Getting a Valuation We provide free, no-obligation valuations, both in person and online, with a range of convenient options to suit you. You can submit details via the form on this page, get in touch by phone or email, visit us at our office, or join one of our Valuation Days. For more information, please visit our Valuations page.

Fees Our seller’s commission is set at a simple 15% plus VAT, which already covers both insurance and storage. There are no additional costs for lotting or photography. If any electrical items require safety testing by a qualified electrician, a minimum fee of £8 plus VAT per item will apply.

Collection Service Smaller items can be collected by a member of our team during a valuation visit at no cost. For larger pieces or full collections, a specialist courier may be needed, which could involve an additional fee.

Payments We aim to settle the net proceeds to the vendor within 21 to 30 days following the sale.
